In February of 2022, I was named a recipient of a 2022 Teacher Creativity Fellowship from Lilly Endowment Inc. The Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program (TCFP) supports educators throughout Indiana by providing resources for them to take time for meaningful renewal. I cannot begin to express the gratitude I feel for Lilly Endowment for selecting me as a recipient of the Teacher Creativity Fellowship.
”Living in the Zone: A Search for Longevity” TCFP proposal was borne out of my personal experience, as I lost both of my parents to preventable illnesses within eight weeks of each other in 2020.
This blog documents my visit to an island in Italy to soak in a region that is home to the greatest concentration of centenarians in the world. While there I will hike, explore, eat and participate in the daily routines of the citizens of Sardinia, Italy to discover their secrets to living a healthier and happier life. I invite everyone to share in my journey by following my blog as I embark on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
